1st period
The favorits from Sweden started furiously into the match and tried to impress the Swiss that way. After 3 minutes Ekeroth shot her first goal and the Swedes into the lead. 2 minutes later Dahlerus shot the second goal in overtime (Dubacher on the bench). Just 21 seconds later Kundert shot the first goal for Switzerland and spirits were high again. From then on it was Sweden all the way to the break. Breaktime result: Switzerland 1, Sweden 5.
2nd period
In the second period the Swedes kept the pressure very high. The Swiss could hardly play outside of their half. A doublette within 33 seconds by Tuominen and Holmgren brought the Scandinavians a 7:1 lead after 26 minutes. From then on the Swedes played more calmly and only controlled the game. The Swiss that way had a few chances but didn`t score anymore.
3rd period
With this clear result after two periods everything was already decided. The moto was play and let play and the Swiss could keep the match even now. Mätzener missed to score standing all alone infront of the Swedish goalkeeper. Ekeroth, best player for the Swedes and topscorer of the tournament shot the last goal of the match in minute 57. It was her 5th personal goal of the match. The Swedes could celebrate their second victory after 1997. The Swiss managed to win the second silver medal after 1999, another highlight in the history of Swiss Womens Floorball...
